Skin Resurfacing

At Denver Skin Aesthetics we offer two resurfacing laser procedures:

Sublative enables you to achieve a more youthful appearance. Sublative uses Bi Radio Frequency energy and is precisely directed into the skin in the form of a matrix. Healthy skin around the dots accelerates the healing process of the skin. Fractional treatments stimulate new collagen and healthy skin cells are produced. Sublative treatments are great for all skin types and are effective for rejuvenation, wrinkle reduction, stretch marks, skin tone, textural irregularities, superficial skin lesions, and acne scarring.

Topical anesthetic ointments are used to reduce any unpleasant feeling. Patients feel a warm prickly sensation as energy enters their skin. A pink or red “sunburn” appearance is also common following treatment. In general at least 3 treatments are recommended, each performed 4-6 weeks apart. Sublative has little to no downtime with most patients reporting redness fading in a few days. Make-up can be applied 12 hours after the treatment.

Fractional CO2 skin resurfacing and retexturizing is a safe and effective procedure for almost any skin type. Fractional resurfacing targets wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, sun damage, and skin texture irregularities and pigment. Patients previously considered poor candidates for resurfacing lasers may now qualify for this new technology.

Fractional CO2 technology is designed in a way that the treating aesthetician has precise control over the intensity of the treatment. This high speed laser will direct a grid pattern of tiny pulses of light at the skin. Each pulse delivers energy that can reach the skin’s dermal layer. This stimulates the body’s own renewal process of collagen. Since the laser is fractionated, small areas of untreated skin are left between the treated areas, which accelerates the healing process.

Downtime will vary depending on treatment, but most patients can expect it to take up to seven days. Pre-treatment of the skin is required for 4-6 weeks prior to treatment. The physicians at Denver Skin Aesthetics also require a physician consultation before treatment. Our aestheticians would be happy to evaluate your skin, address your concerns, and let you know if this procedure is right for you.
